„Let’s get together and feel alright!“. This is Bob Marley’s motto and this year, the Afro-Caribbean Festival takes place for the 21. time in Frankfurt. From 13. to 14. August, people can celebrate in the „Rebstockpark“. This festival is the biggest and oldest one of its kind in Hesse.

Also this year, the programme is diverse as Africa itself. At an African Market, you can buy clothes, cloth, instruments, CDs, arts and crafts and more. However, there is also something for the children like for example a soccer arena, a bouncing castle and surprises. Music plays an important role on such a festival. There is a great live programme for the right atmosphere so that the visitors can’t help but dance.

Among the artist is the Ngoma Africa Band from Tanzania, which has already existed since 1993. With their mixture of rumba rhythms and African texts, they wow the audience. They play live on Saturday (13.08.16) at 8pm. Here, you find a portrait of this band.
Good rhythms and good mood! This describes the music of Sir Mystic and Arican Best. The band comes from Ghana and their music is a mixture of reggae, ragga, high life, gospel and soul rock-elements. You simply have to dance when you listen to their music which includes known hits as well as own ones. They perform on Sunday (14.08.16) at 5:30pm.
Fatoumata Kamissoko takes you to her home Mali and Guinea with her traditional and fascinating music. She has been working together with well-known musicians like Mory Kanté and Djéli Moussa Diawara, who are her cousins as well. Don’t miss to listen to her music on Sunday (14.08.16) at 8pm.

Several African associations are at the festival as well. They inform visitors about their work in Africa and in the Rhine-Main-area and if you want to, you can also contribute. Needless to say, there are also refreshments. So, discover African and Caribbean cuisine and all the delicacies of this wonderful country.
