‘Akwaaba Events’ organizes exotic partys and events with great DJ specials of different genres: Afrobeats, Azonto, All African Music, Best of Hip Hop, R´n´B, Soul, Oldschool or Dancehall. ‘Akwaaba’ in Akan (Ghanaian language) means “welcome”. Tony Boateng is the founder of the Event-Promoter and this year ‘Akwaaba Events’ is celebrating their 4th jubilee. The intention of building this company was, and still is, to bring people from different nationalities together through music. Mostly it should give Europeans an understanding of the West-African-Music tradition. Special is, that “young and old can celebrate together”, tells us Tony Boateng. Right now there are seven creative people searching for new locations and celebrities for new events. But the business competition is very huge in Ghana and it is also growing in Hessen. The contact to ‘Akwaaba UK’ (biggest organizer in GB and UK) is for Tony a very strong feature. Besides the jubilee celebration he organizes a charity soccer game, the ‘AKwaaba Cup 2017’, to help build schools in Ghana. Tony’s wish for the future is, that “Afrobeats becomes more widespread in Clubs, where a platform for younger and talented artists can be created and we can find some new sponsors, who support us, too”.
The jubilee is celebrated with the White and Black Party:
