The African Summer Festival in Karlsruhe will again take place at July this Year. This intercultural Event, which has an interesting Schedule, is really suitable as a School trip, excursion or as an activity for families. The reason for this colorful 25th African summer festival is giving the Audience an insight of the African culture und handicraft.
This year will be a big change at the festival because of the representative music- and dance groups of different African States.
- Thursday: Serigne Niang, Afro Tribal, Gregory da Silva, Brahima and Nordakasband, Zirkus, Akrobatik, Jonglage und Balance
- Friday: Ras Perez, Sam Jarju, Azéto African Percussion.
- Saturday: Mamoudou kooayté, Special request Band, Yvonne Mwale
- Sunday: Godfrey Aletor, El Grand Nordakas Band, Gospel The Good News Family.
On Thursday the Singer and Balafonist Brahima Diabaté will perform and fascinate the audience with the Latin-American- Spanish Formation Nordakas. Brahima is the youngest Griot- Singer, the oldest and popular Music group in West Africa. From his young age, he has a wonderful control over the Balafon and now his talent is a real Inspiration for the Youth.
Yvonne Mwale, a Singer from Zambia, will perform on Saturday. She is a successful artist and got the Ngoma Award for a “Best upcoming female artist”. Her last Music album was released in 2014 and shoot in Frankfurt, because she is living in Germany since 2013.
Even at the last day of the event everyone can enjoy the African Atmosphere. The charismatic Singer, Godfrey Aletor from Nigeria, will come with his Band “Godfrey and the Grand” to charm the Audience. With his songs he wants to spread love, peace and the sense of life, which is a wonderful message at the end of the festival.
The whole Event is rounded up with live stage shows, exotic food, fashion shows, afro shopping, drum workshops, dance workshops, bazars and Exhibitions of popular African artists.
