Here are some personalities from the Afrobeat- movement:

Niki Tall

Niki Tall is a German DJ with Greek ancestors and a slight weakness for Nigerian Music. His Name has a curious background story. First he wants to perform with the name “DJ Oyinbo Boy”, his Nigerian pet name which means Caucasian or Stranger. That name wasn´t easy to pronounce for German People so he changes his name as Niki. Niki was his pet name in Kindergarten. And Tall? A friend called him Niki Tall because of his height. So that is the Story of Niki Tall.

Timaya

Timaya´s Songs sound like sea, beach and really hot temperatures. Reggae music in combination with afrobeat let everyone think about Caribbean Beach parties which makes his music special. In 2011 he was appointed as the Peace ambassador of the IIFWP (Interreligious and International Federation for World Peace).
