HipHop-legend Nas described her as an unbelievable and great artist. Queslove from the Roots is addicted to her singing. And the Sunday Times says, that her debut album is at least as great as “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill”.

Today, four records later, Nneka is an international Star. And if music is a weapon, just like the legendary Fela-Kuti-documentation implies, then she is definitely a masterpiece of in the arsenal of music.

What makes this singer special? A great voice, a lot of heart, controversial lyrics and especially the ravenous will to spread positive energy – in every country, in any place, and all over the world. With this years release of “My Fairy Tales”, she presents a concept-album, that deals with the life of Africans in the Diaspora and with their problems. The music is mainly based on Afro-beat and Roots-Music, but HipHop-Beats, Reggae-Grooves and brass-sounds are not foreign to her. She combines Soul, Groove, heart and style and has something to say.

In Berlin, Hamburg and Mannheim, Nneka will play one concert in the beginning of April. Her loyal fans were stoked!

We were present in the Alte Feuerwache in Mannheim! More about the concert can be found in our July-issue of the Afrika-Magazine. Drop in, it’s worth it!
